The Mesozoic period is also known as the Age of Reptiles. This was the time of dinosaurs, but also the time of many other forms of life, some which went the way of the dinosaurs, with the outdated idea they went extinct, and other that went the way of the dinosaurs, with the realization that birds are descendants of dinosaurs.
